PMA Housing Setup
Turn a Housing Blueprint into an operational environment by recording target conditions, installed equipment, equipment coverage, recurring maintenance, readiness gaps, safety context, and permanent setup history.
What the readiness review means
Readiness measures configuration completeness. It is not a welfare score, professional safety certification, veterinary advice, or a guarantee that the setup is appropriate. Every warning links back to recorded PMA data so a person can review and correct it.
Before you begin
- • The Housing record must already exist in Beta 73 Housing Blueprint.
- • Owner, Admin, or Manager permission is required to change setup configuration.
- • Keeper permission can view configuration and complete active routines.
- • Confirm that the Housing Blueprint and permanent position identities are correct before mapping equipment.
Open Housing Setup
- 1. Open Housing.
Go to Housing, open the rack, stack, enclosure, tub, or incubator, and choose Housing Setup.
- 2. Review the starting summary.
PMA explains which configuration sections are complete, missing, or optional. A new setup will normally show several attention items.
- 3. Record intended species and safety context.
Add the intended species, critical operating instructions, and general notes. Avoid using this field as a substitute for verified husbandry records or veterinary guidance.
Environmental zones
Create basking, warm-side, ambient, cool-side, humidity, UV, incubator, or custom zones. Record the target, acceptable minimum and maximum, unit, coverage, and sensor or manual measurement point.
Configured targets provide context to PMA’s existing environmental logging. Continue recording actual readings through the normal Environment workflow.
Equipment and coverage
Record heat sources, thermostats, probes, sensors, lighting, misting, ventilation, pumps, cameras, alarms, and backup power. Map each item to the full Housing system, a row, a permanent position, an enclosure, or an environmental zone.
Retire equipment instead of deleting it. Retirement preserves assignments, service evidence, and audit history.
Create maintenance routines
Create recurring cleaning, disinfection, calibration, inspection, bulb replacement, filter, pump, mist-nozzle, backup-power, or custom routines. Record frequency, next due date, responsible role, instructions, affected Housing or equipment, animal-movement requirements, and evidence requirements.
When a routine is completed, PMA creates a permanent completion record and calculates the next due date for daily, weekly, or monthly frequencies. Beta 75 Daily Command will consume these due dates.
Understand warnings
An active heat source has no Housing assignment.
An active heat source has no active controller assigned.
A thermostat or incubator controller has no probe position recorded.
An environmental zone has no sensor or manual measurement point.
An active lighting fixture has no inspection or replacement routine.
Retired equipment remains assigned to active Housing coverage.
Audit history
PMA records setup creation, target changes, equipment additions and retirement, assignment changes, routine changes, and completion evidence. Audit entries include the organization, acting user, affected record, timestamp, and previous and new state where applicable.
Troubleshooting
Your role is view-only or Keeper. Ask an Owner, Admin, or Manager to update setup configuration.
Open the Housing Blueprint and confirm the position exists under the selected Housing system. Beta 74 only maps to real Beta 73 position records.
The routine was configured with completion evidence required. Add the required evidence through the supported completion workflow before closing the routine.
The prior assignment is intentionally preserved. Archive or replace the active assignment after confirming the operational change.
